MINING ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Minerals have been essential to man since our beginning. An adequate supply of mineral products at acceptable prices is the indispensable basis of any modern industrial nation. The demand for minerals of all kinds is higher today than ever before, and it continues to increase as the nations of the world strive to improve their standards of living. It is the task of the mineral industry and the people in it to supply these needs. The function of the mining engineer is to apply knowledge of pertinent scientific theory, engineering fundamentals, and improved technology to recover natural resources. Since the department was founded years ago to train and educate miners, mining engineering has changed greatly, becoming increasingly multidisciplinary, incorporating advance technologies and capitalizing on new scientific discoveries. This lead the department to include various experts in mining engineering practices to cover a spectrum of activates at the Kingdom. The Mining at the Kingdom is booming with multi activates in underground mining for gold, silver and cupper complexes. A Major strip mining project is undertaken currently to develop a major phosphate production project that is dedicated for exporting purposes. It was the Kingdom aim is to develop enrage and dedicate funding for development in mining industry thus a replicate for current dependency in oil production is present. the Mining Engineering specialty, is a dedicated job that requires strength, dedication, courage and adventure takers to manage to study, implement and successes in that carrier.
